Political Awareness and Involvement/Social Action
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is non-partisan in nature and purpose. The organization understands the importance of and need for an informed electorate. The sorority’s concern for the public’s “need-to-know” and the enfranchisement of all Americans has been the philosophical basis for our public service programs.
Our Sorority has been committed to service through Political Awareness and Involvement/Social Action since its founding in 1913. Our 22 Founders participated in the Suffrage March of 1913, just two months after establishing the Sorority, and our members have been at the forefront of social and political struggles ever since.
The Hall County Alumnae Chapter (HCAC) is committed to being proactive in informing and educating its membership and communities on the issues of the day that have the potential to impact their lives. HCAC recognizes that the struggle for equality begins with political freedom.
Our Political Awareness and Involvement/Social Action Committee addresses issues that affect public policy, economic viability, and social justice.
